What this policy covers

Your privacy is important to us, and so is being transparent about how we collect, use, and share information about you. This policy describes what types of information we collect from you, how it is used, how we share it with others, how you can manage the information we hold and how you can contact us.

We will always give you the option not to receive marketing communications from us. We will never send you unsolicited emails or communications, or share your data with anyone else who might. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

The contents of this policy may change from time to time so you may wish to check this page occasionally to ensure you are still happy to share your information with us. Where possible, we will also contact you directly to notify you of these changes.

Our Privacy policy has been written in compliance with the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Information We Collect

We collect information about you or your company when you provide it to us, when you use our services or participate in our biannual surveys. We only collect information which is necessary, relevant and adequate for the purpose you are providing it for.

The information we collect includes some or all of the following:

  1. Name (including title), Address, Phone number, Date of birth, Email address (Private and/or business) Telephone numbers (Private and/or business) Company Name, Company details (some of which we may obtain from an online or public business directories), The date you used our services, Your IP address, The internet browser and devices you are using, Cookie, Pixels or Beacon information (for more information please see our Cookie Policy), Blogpost / comments (although public), conversations / chats / e-mail content that you have communicated to us, The website address from which you accessed our website, Details of any transactions between you and us, Any information within correspondence you send to us.
  2. Social media platforms and widgets. Our Websites include social media features, such as the Facebook Like button. These features may collect information about your IP address and which page you are visiting on our Website, and they may set a cookie to make sure the feature functions properly. Social media features and widgets are either hosted by a third party or hosted directly on our Website. We also maintain presences on social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google +, and YouTube. Any information, communications, or materials you submit to us via a social media platform is done at your own choice without any expectation of privacy from us as we cannot control the actions of other users of these platforms or the actions of the platforms themselves. Your interactions with those features and platforms are governed by the privacy policies of the companies that provide them.

How we use information we collect

We will only process information that is necessary for the purpose for which it has been collected. You will always have the option not to receive marketing communications from us and you can withdraw your consent at any time. We will never send you unsolicited emails or communications, or share your personal information with any third parties.

There are various ways in which we may use or process your personal information as detailed below:

  1. Where you have provided your consent, we may use and process your information to contact you from time to time about, products, services, upcoming surveys and other events we think you may be interested in. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at privacy@slashdata.co or, in relation to any marketing messages you receive, by using the unsubscribe option included in those messages.
  2. We may use and process your personal information where this is necessary to create a Contract or Statement of Work with you and to fulfil and complete your orders, purchases and other transactions entered into with us.
  3. To respond to correspondence you send to us and fulfil the requests you make to us
  4. To provide support and services
  5. To analyse, evaluate and improve our products and services
  6. To undertake market analysis and research (including contacting you with surveys) so that we can better understand you as a customer and provide tailored offers, products and services that we think you will be interested in. We will only send marketing communications to you if you have provided your consent for us to do so or which we have obtained in the ways mentioned in the paragraph below;
  7. To send you marketing information from time to time provided that you have agreed to that. You have the right to change your preference to receive such information from us at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions included in every email we send.
  8. In addition, we may use information we collect in order to advertise our Products and Services to you or suggest additional features of our Products and Services that you might consider using. In addition, we may use your Personal Information to advertise our Products and Services to potential or other users like you.
  9. To contact you from time to time with marketing information (unless you object)
  10. To administer competitions and promotions that you enter with us from time to time and to distribute prizes
  11. To contact you with important information such as change of our business name or address
  12. To comply with a request from you in connection with the exercise of your rights (for example where you have asked us not to contact you for marketing purposes, we will keep a record of this on our suppression lists in order to be able to comply with your request)

We do not share or disclose any of the personally identifying information we gather outside of the business. A data protection and confidentiality clause is included in our supplier, associate, and personnel contracts and agreements.

We will only share information about you with third parties when you give us consent to do so. For example, we may display personal testimonials of satisfied customers on our website or on social media. We will discuss with you details before displaying any such information. We may share or transfer information we collect under this privacy policy in connection with any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company. You will be notified via email if a transaction takes place, as well as any choices you may have regarding your information.

The only case where such information would be disclosed to 3rd parties are

  • To comply with a legal process, applicable law or regulation
  • To comply with a government request
  • To enforce our agreements, policies and terms of service
  • Respond to an emergency which requires us to disclose information to prevent death or injury

Log data:

Like many site operators, we collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our websites and surveys. ("Log Data"). This Log Data may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol ("IP") address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Product that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages and other statistics.

Cookies:

Cookies are files with small amount of data, which may include an anonymous unique identifier.

Cookies are sent to your browser from a web site and stored on your computer's hard drive.

Like many sites, we use "cookies" to collect information. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our websites and surveys.

Local Storage:

In addition to cookies, we use browser local storage technology to store your preferences and make your user experience more consistent. Local storage is a persistent type of storage, that provides similar functionality to cookies, but its contents are not transmitted across the Internet, like cookies are.

Like cookies, you can control how local storage works on your browser settings on a global or website specific manner. Disabling the local storage functionality on your browser will result in loss of functionality of the Product.

Security

The security of your Personal Information is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

How long we keep information

How long we keep information we collect about you depends on the type and nature of the information collected.

Survey Respondents

Leads

We may also collect publicly available contact details as part of our sales processes for prospecting new business leads in sales-targeted companies. The collected information is stored and maintained in our CRM system as long as we have your consent. The contacts can always unsubscribe or be completely removed from our database per request.

These details will be kept on file within our database for up to 6 months. All applicants that we wish to keep on file within our talent pool for future opportunities will be contacted to gain consent. If we do not gain the applicant's consent, we will remove their details from our system.

How to access and control your information

You have the right as an individual to access the personal information we hold about you and make corrections if necessary. You also have the right to withdraw any consent you have previously given us and ask us to delete information we keep about you.

You have certain rights in relation to your personal information under the data protection law. In relation to most rights, we will ask you for information to confirm your identity so that we may search for your personal information. We will respond to you within 30 days after we have received any request.

You have the right to:

  1. Ask for a copy of the information that we keep about you;
  2. Correct and update your information;
  3. Withdraw your consent
  4. Object to our use of your information provided we do not have any continuing lawful reason to continue to do so.
  5. Delete your information (or restrict the use of it), provided we do not have any continuing lawful reason to continue to use and process that information.
